Care & Maintenance
Over time, with exposure to the elements, powder coatings may show signs of weathering such as; loss of gloss, chalking and slight colour change. A simple regular clean will minimize the effects of weathering and will remove dirt, grime and other build-up that can be detrimental to powder coatings.
It is recommended that you clean your items at least twice a year for sections that are not exposed to rain or receive the same exposure as glass.
However, in aggressive environments, it is recommended that you clean your products at least four times per year. Regularly inspect your powder coating and clean more often if required
Do
- Regularly clean using a pH neutral detergent
- Gently rub to remove dust, salt and other deposits
- For stubborn stains, use only Isopropyl (IPA) or Methylated spirits and rinse thoroughly with clean water
Don't
- Do not use aggressive solvents such as turpentine, white spirits, thinners and citrus based cleaners
- Do not rub powder coating aggressively, especially metallic finishes
- Don’t allow sunscreen to come into contact with powder coating
